SPITVALVES CALL THE QUITS AFTER 11 YEARS
After 11 long years Spitvalves are calling it quits. The band will perform two final shows.April 3rd Spitvalves will lend a hand by offering a benefit performance for the legal defense fund of Mor Krivinsky. Mor is an essential element in the Central Florida Music scene. The benefit will be held at The Social in Orlando Saturday April 3rd.

Spitvalves final performance is in the planning process and will most likely be held at the Social. The band is planning a marathon set spanning their career from their first "cassett only" release of 'Ska-rambled Eggs' though 'Movin On' as well as a new song or two. Spitvalves are also trying to gather up some photos and video clips of their family, friends, and fun times over the past decade. Hopefully the clips will be projected on stage as one last thank you prior to the bands final performance.

Spitvalves members will continue to be active in the Central Florida music scene. Mikey Cortes is fronting 'Overdale', Overdale can soon be heard on the upcoming compilation 'Cries at the Eleventh Hour', soon to be released by super producer Sal Vilanueva on Black Pumpkin Records. Charlie Bender is fronting a new band, 'Knup'. Knup can currently be heard on a compilation featuring the Minghty Mighty Bosstones, Marky Ramone, etc. released by Fat City Magazine. Spitvalve Ricky San Jose has taken over Trumpet duties for Florida bands Skiff Dank and The Supervillains. Tito Esquiacci is playing bass for Supervillains. Until everything get's settled Ressurection-AD's 'Spitvalves' message board will be the best place to get show information for the new projects.

SPITVALVES MOVIN ON REVIE - ROCKPILE MAGAZINE #87 - DECEMBER 2002
With quick, distorted riffs, Bosstones-inspired horns and a thunderous rhythm section, The Spitvalves play fast and heavy hardcore with just a touch of bounce. Upon popping in the band's latest full length, Movin On, the album at once proves a catchy listen. Each of the album's 13 songs boasts a melodic mosh-pit-meets-dance-floor sound based on controlled, structured chops and a rapid-fire vocal delivery. When the Spitvalves expand beyond skacore's traditional backdrop, however, is when it is most effective - "Movin On," "1,2,3,4,#" and "Stumble" offer a more guitar-driven tone both beguiling and undeniably hard. Showing marked refinement since its last outing, the band now ropes its listeners in with its wildly disjointed sound. - Dan Pastorius

KNUCKLE SANDWICH NICE REVIEW - AQUARIAN WEEKLY - VOL. 2-146: 07.10.02 - 07.17.02
This could be the breakthrough album for this NJ local band. Quickly gaining the respect and adoration of fans and other bands, Knuckle Sandwich have put together a gem of a record. Thirteen rock songs that take on topics of nationalism, integrity, and the always accepted, relationship songs all delivered in a rock-meets-punk package. The guitars on the record sound amazing and the production is top notch. The lead-off track, "American Song" has one of the most inspiring choruses ever and should be the new National Anthem. Don't be surprised if you start hearing songs from this record all over the radio, both college and commercial. And if you see it, buy it, you won't be disappointed. by Brian Luff - Grad: A
